Hi. This question is not an invitation to knock R2R agencies but to understand the reasons they exist and why recruiters as job seekers use them.
Question: if a recs job is to track down and evaluate opps for candidates, logic says they would do the same for the themselves? Therefore, by knowing their (local) competition, and by making direct approaches to employers they would find a position without the help of an intermediary. However, given the number of R4R companies they must be fulfilling a need. So, why do recruiters use them?
Is it due to lack of time, their knowledge of what a company is really like, discretion, something else?
Technology makes it easy to name gather and make a direct approach to a potential employer. You can email direct 24/7. It is possible to make a call during the day to introduce self so I am intrigued.
Some of my peers who have recruited staff have commented that consultants sometimes use R4R simply to neg a better offer from their current employer.
Employers who have used R4R - how do the retention rates of R2R candidates compare with those recruited direct?
Welcome feedback from individuals who have used R4R, employers and R2R consultants.
Just to reiterate this is not an R4R bashing exercise.
Thanks
