There is one company I know of that record all interviews with candidates to provide a video resume to their clients.

Seems to work for them as they are very successful.

It's always going to be potentially risky producing a Video resume like the example above. It's got the same problem as including photos with a resume isntantly seems a little over confident.

On the other hand I think more firms who are recruiting should investigate the opportunities of Video. There are some great examples from the big I.T companies on YouTube and I can def see advantages from a search engine marketing point of view.

Hi,

Having worked the recruitment industry for some years...(2 many to mention)...I have been amazed at the lack of forsight by the big four agancies, with regards usage of the internet..so much so, working as a hobby I have created issoff.com, a video resume and video job vacancy hosting site.

I'm looking for feedback and any ideas ..

Thanks

Gary

I'm a bit unsure about Video CV's / Resumes and the like but can see the potential in them for the future, once recruiters are ready to take on this technology. I agree with Gary about the lack of insight and the huge potential of the internet.

I came across this recently www.myvideotalk.net/23748 and just wondered if anyone has ever used these services for marketing etc

How do Video CV's sit with the discrimination laws? Surely they are a fast track way to discriminate against job seekers?

I think it is a website designed to bring your video taped interview and your resume directly to the employer..... "Its like the candidate have so much more to offer than what is on his/her resume."

I don't think they will be popular apart from with a handful of people. I might be wrong as I haven't researched that.

Recruiting is about the experience people have and whether it matches to the job you are recruiting for. Not about what they look like. With the age discrimination laws and all the others I can't see it bringing much good. It is much easier and quicker to read someones CV to assess their suitability followed by a telephone screening than sit and watch them talking.
