YTD is £169k so thats just over £14k a month average...but it can be seasonal £25k some months and 10k others.
I'm also solo from home.
I suppose it depends on industry sector but a half decent consultant should bill atleast 10k a month.......wouldn't you agree bootlace? |

'IT recruitment £10k per month is average in a normal market'. Are you talking about newcomers here, as I dont think a newcomer who has just started out can bill that. They will probably bill 4k or so Like Janice, no offence.

Hi Sunny
Do you mean that Janice is new to recruitment ?
If so is has she started up on her own or is she homebased but working for someone else ?
Janice, if you are new to recruitment then £4k per month is OK but I would questions why you have started up on your own with no recruitment experience ? (if that's the case)
The only tip I can give you is to know your market and do as many telephone calls each day that you can (to prospective clients and candidates). Don't bother sending out literature or emails unless the client specifically asks. |

Hi Richard
I probably don't do anything differently to you. I just got lucky (although it could be argued that the better you are the luckier you become) and managed to force my way on to a major PSL where my fees were all 25% and vacancies were up to £80k salaries as well as giving me a couple of high level contractors.
The down side is that that 1 client took most of my time resourcing for and provided 75% of my billings and have now frozen recruitment. I recognised the danger of putting all my eggs in 1 basket well in advance so decided to bill a smuch as possible with them before the inevitable. |
