Just had a thought. Many recruitment companies are now offshoring back-office functions such as resourcing. So, this will ultimately mean less opportunities for people to break into the recruitment industry via these traditional "training grounds", learn their trade and progress.

Given the difficulties already in finding good consultants in the UK market, does anyone think that this offshoring process spells real trouble for the future of recruitment in the UK? That is to say, where are the consultants of tomorrow going to come from??

Hi Chris,

Personal opinion is no. There will always be ways into the recruitment market for new individuals.

The RPO model does not suit all organisations nor all sectors. It can work well within the contingency recruitment market but it provides dismal results to the executive search environment.

Many companies will utilies the resourcing aspect but only to handle the initial sourcing of the candidate form job boards. If the internal resourcer is still doing the intial contact phase then they're will still be lots of opportunities for new people to enter the market.

Hi there,

On the subject of RPO's - do you happen to know the names of any reliable companies which deal in this area?
