Sam,
Can you clarify what you mean.
Do you mean telephone interviewing candidates?
Arranging for a client to telephone interview your candidates?
And what are we protecting ourselves from?? - As I believe most of us have terms of business designed to protect the client and candidate as well as the agency.

Hi Ethan,
I mean giving the client the candidates number.
Protecting ourselves from the scenario where the client contacs the candidate to do business directly. Yes we rely on our introduction clause within the terms if business but does anyone do anything else? At the very least to get greater peace of mind.

Apart from our tob which we issue before any cv's are sent etc we also sometimes use a Candidate decleration form - this is signed by the candidate confirming in effect that we are the agency who is introducing the cadidate to x comapny or companies and that they have not had any previous contact.
This is usually done when introducing a candidate to a new company we have not dealt with before -I know its not much but it does stop the candidate agreeing with the client when they try and go behind your back.
We also (As I assume everyone else does) log each and every call with both the candidate and client |

Make sure that you have a good relationship with your candidate. Talk to them after the interview keep in regular contact with them and the client afterwards. If you are opne and honest with a candidate and are with them every step of their job search they will tell you what they are applying for what other jobs are in the piplline and natually if they are contacted by your client. |

Hi,
I would suggest that you only set up a telephone interview by offering to facilitate a conference call from your own telephone system.
You will have to pay for both parts of the call, BUT you also have the option of employing Call Recoring technology - you can even offer this as a service to the client, by sending them a copy of the recording after the i/v.
